Question:
What were japans politics before WWII? I don't need whole history just the politics leading up to WWII. Straight forward answer would be appreciated. Please DON'T tell me to go on Google or Wikipedia and look it up myself. Links would also be appreciated though.
Answer:
Indeed the Japanese led a brutal regime with an enormous army. The Emperors were worshipped as they warred with China. They beat the Chinese many times in the past, and I remember correctly the Rape of Nanking was also around this time; either that or the Chinese were still recovering from the damage of the war that started in the early 20's, in which the Chinese were enslaved in labor camps...
Most of the time, politicians were elected solely based on their campaigns goals against the Chinese, which at that time were called by them "The Sick Men of Asia" and there are still many politicians who succeed this way in Japan, such as the current party leaders. All of this led to the Japanese to be known as "devils".
Much has not changed in Japan. So naturally, the Japanese believed in the ways of the Axis.
