Social problems that arise from current earthquake in Japan?

Question:

I believe that the lack of educating school aged children is a social problem now due to the earthquake in Japan because the children do not have a school to go to because they have been ruined.

What are some more social problems caused by the earthquake in Japan and can u pls explain xo :)

Answer:

Schools and teachers who are also living in the affected areas are doing what they can to preoccupy and help children and families affected by the quake. But right now the school year ended just as the quake hit. They are all supposed to be on holiday now. So their schooling hasn't really been affected and most children when the new school year comes, will be transfered to areas further inland where schools are still standing.

As for major social problems. I live in Tokyo and there is a phenomenon happening in the city (which was structurally unaffected by the quake) what my friends and i have dubbed 'Tokyo Panic'. This is where Tokyo citizens literally went out and bought anything they could get their hands on at any grocery story they could get to. Please remember that Tokyo is still fine and there was little damage done to the city. We did feel the jolt of the quake but the media freaked everyone out so much that they literally stock pilled as much as they could. They also did this with gas (for what reason I do not know). Every gas station in the city sold out in the days after the quake and continued to do so last week. This week it has seemed to calm down as the big thing now to buy is water. Yesterday on the news they reported that some radiation was found in the Tokyo tap water supply... leading to, you guessed it, Tokyo Panic. Mass crowds raided grocery stores and bought every lick of bottled water in the city. I am actually embarrassed because people in the Tsunami affected regions need more water and gas and food that people living in the convenience of the city.
