Why does it take longer to ship from Japan To U.S than flying?

Well Im waiting for a shipment from Japan and I was wondering how long will it take for the shipment to come. Japan to Texas. Also it's probably longer than a person flying from Japan To Texas and why is that? TYVM IF YOU ANSWER!

Answer:

A week to ten days is common. A person is under his / own power. They walk on / off the plane. A package has to be processed in the country before it leaves, and then again in the country it arrives to. That and thousands of other packages that arrive with it.
