How to audition in japan and steps to be promoted?

Question:

please help me to be an idol in japan ill do my best :)

Answer:

Where's your YouTube channel?

Are you cute, slim and attractive enough to compete with the girls in my second link? How well can you sing? How well can you model? Is your posture impeccable? How good is your calligraphy?

Why are you posting your question in English? Didn't you know that you must have excellent diction? If your Japanese is below the grade expected for your age, forget it. By "grade", I mean as in elementary school. That means that if you're 12 years old or older, you're expected to know ALL the kanji in my third link.

Edit: You're not Japanese. Why aren't you known in your native country already? Why don't you first try your luck there first before letting your talent known overseas? Why haven't you gone to, say, a local anime convention?

Are japanese audition held yearly?

Question:

Conventions Act on Specified Commercial Transactions <--- Maybe that has something to do with it?

Thank you!

Answer:

A lot of Japanese shops don't ship overseas. You need to either shop somewhere that does (like Amazon Japan if you're buying books or Rakuten for other things) or go through a shopping service like Celga or Noppin.

How to look kawaii and different?

Question:

Answer:

First of all, Lizzie, "kawaii" is not some random Japanese just thrown in here - it's totally appropriate and fitting for this question. To say what you did "makes you sound stupid and the impression is given you are a weeaboo."

Secondly, Mizz, I'm assuming (since you're asking in the Japan category) that it would be the young Japanese girl kawaii look, so here's a good place to start...

What are the people and culture of Narashino, Chiba Japan like?

Question:

are family is planing a trip to Narashino, Chiba Japan this summer and i just needed to know some information about it. Every where I look I mostly see only about Tokyo Which is near by. PLEASE answer truthfully!!

Answer:

I know that city very well....
It's suburb of Tokyo. Many people commute from Narashino area to Tokyo. It's good middle classed neighborhood, but not many exciting things around. Good thing is you can go to most of famous tourist attraction of Tokyo in about 30 min. -60 min. by train. Some of major places around the area are:
Big shopping mall called "LaLaport" in Funabashi,
http://tokyobay.lalaport.net/lala_eng/
Tokyo Disney Land in Urayasu,
http://www.tokyodisneyresort.co.jp/en/in…
,,, nothing in Narashino. The City municipality is promoting Yatsu higata. It's peaeful place, but might not be so exciting place. You coudl walk around it and take about 1hour.
http://www.yatsuhigata.jp/english/about/…

Narahisno is still nice place for everyday life.
Not many people in Narashino have experiences to see foreign people, I guess.

It's OK place to live, but not very fun place to travel.

What to do in Japan from December 20 to January 14?

Question:

I am going to Japan for Christmas and there is just so much that I want to do. Where should I go? We are flying into Tokyo but we will be there for 26 days so we want to travel. We plan to go to Sapporo, Tokyo, Niigata, Aomori, Kamakura, Wakayama, Kyoto, Gifu, and Oosaka. But what are the main places we should go?

Answer:

The must see cities in Japan are Tokyo and Kyoto. Attractions in Tokyo include the Asakusa district famous for Sensoji temple and Nakamise shopping street; Meiji Shrine; The Imperial Palace; Ginza and Harajuku.

Read more about Tokyo here
http://japan-australia.blogspot.com/2010…

Kyoto attractions include Kiyomizudera; Kinkakuji (Temple of the Golden Pavilion); Ginkakuji (Temple of the Silver Pavilion); Nijo Castle; and Heian Shrine.

Read more about Kyoto here
http://japan-australia.blogspot.com/2011…

Other places I highly recommend include:

Nara - ancient capital and full of history and old temples
http://japan-australia.blogspot.com/2010…

Takayama - beautiful city known for its traditional architecture and crafts
http://japan-australia.blogspot.com/2010…

Hiroshima - beautiful city in Japan that reminds me of my home town of Melbourne in Australia with its green parks and trams
http://japan-australia.blogspot.com/2010…

If you plan to do a lot of travelling in Japan then it is worth getting the Japan Rail Pass, which allows unlimited travel on almost all JR trains, including the shinkansen (excluding the Nozomi superexpress). This pass can only be purchased outside of Japan.

To figure out if a JR Pass would be worth it or not for you, use Hyperdia’s website http://www.hyperdia.com/ to figure out how much your planned trips might cost, and compare it to the cost of a JR Pass.

The most important holiday in Japan is New Year (Oshougatsu), where much of the country shuts down from December 30 to January 3. This is usually not a great time to travel in Japan.

I have a question about Japan....?

Question:

Since K-pop (very westernized, hip-hop influences) is extremley popular in Japan and is mainstream there - why do you think the Japanese artist's are still making music thats the same autotune/high pitched/kawaii stuff? And why isn't Japanese following other asian countries such as Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan - and creating groups of K-pop influence?

Answer:

First of all, it's fake that K-Pops are mainstream in Japan.

Of course some people likte them, but most of Japanese prefer J-Pops and J-Rocks like B'z, Mr.Children, these days Ikimonogakari rather than K-Pops.

Even "kawaii" is not really popular in Japan, it is just well known outside Japan.

Japan is the second largest market of music in the world, so many Japanese just don't really care about other countries.

Substitute for 'cream of tartar' in cheesecake?

Question:

i'm trying to make a Japanese cheesecake, and the recipe calls for cream of tartar (is it to puff it up?) so i'm not really sure what to replace it with since this is my first cheesecake...suggestions?

the recipe:
http://divascancook.com/2011/05/japanese…

Answer:

The cream of tartar acts as a stabilizer for beaten egg whites. You can make the recipe without it, but when you fold the beaten whites into the rest of the batter, they may break down very slightly, but it probably won't be noticeable in the finished cake.

You could probably add a tiny bit of cornstarch to the egg whites when you add the remaining sugar, probably 1/2 the amount of the cream of tartar.

What are the vet qualifications in japan compared to the ones in england?

Question:

ok, so my dream in life is to become a vet in japan, and if you going to comment saying "trololol- impossible to do it trololol weeaboo trololol" then don't bother, i just want to ask how similar they are. if i finished my vet qualifications, would that be enough in japan? and if not, what would i need to do? are they similar? what jobs could i get in japan with those qualifications??

SENSIBLE ANSWERS!

Answer:

It's not a matter of "similar". Japan has its own vet license. And you need Japanese license to work as a vet in Japan.

Your qualification in England does not have any meaning in Japan. You have to go to a vet college for 6 years and take a vet exam in Japan.

If you have it in England, you can skip its college. But you have to take exam after all. So that means you have to study the 6 year course on your own.

Do Japanese feel ignored now - 6 months after the earthquake and tsunami - by the world?

Question:

or is there a mood of ambivalence regarding foreign aid and attention?

I feel as if we have moved on, which is rather sad but understandable given how fast the news moves in the 21st century.

Answer:

We are devastated of course. Many people lost their jobs and families.

It's sad yes, that many people around the globe forgot about Japan that easily. But Japanese still needs the help.

Many people here, especially the people in the affected areas, try to live their lives as normally as possible. But with the Fukushima nuclear plant still unsafe, it's really hard to forget about it.

IS THIS SENTENCE CORRECT IN JAPANESE?

Question:

There are 6 restaurants. These restaurants sells Mexican food, Chinese food, Pizza, and Donuts. I am not talking about each one sell the same thing, but like one sells mexican food, another sell pizza, and etc.

resutoran ga muttsu arimasu. mekishiko ryoriya to chuugoku ryoriya to pizaya to donatsuya ga arimasu.

Do not tell me that I have to use "rokuken" because it will sound like I did not make up the sentence. Also can you show me what the ryoriya looks like in Hiragana? No Kanji Please!!!

Answer:

>resutoran ga muttsu arimasu.
You have to use "ten" or "ken" when you are counting a store or restaurant. So it must be "resutoran ga rokken arimasu"

>mekishiko ryoriya to chuugoku ryoriya to pizaya to donatsuya ga arimasu.
Chinese food is "chuka ryori" in Japanese.

And we do not have "donuts restaurant" in Japan. Just donuts store. So it's not natural to include donuts in a restaurant list.

Japanese book on tape and my name? (2 questions)?

Question:

I'm learning japanese. So far I have memorized almost all the hiragana. I was wondering if there was somewere I could get a FREE japanese book on tape, just so I could listen to how it sounds. I don't want it to be teaching me any japanese.

My 2nd question:
My name is Coreen pronounced Core-ee-n. Would that be hard for someone in japan to pronounce, I was thinking maybe i could tell them it was koe-ren

Thank you!

Answer:

Why not just listen to things on Youtube? Might not be an ENTIRE book-on-tape type of thing but there is plenty to listen to you youtube.

Coreen would just become Korin or Koriin (こりん or こりいん) in Japanese. Korin is a name that already exists. It wouldn't be difficult for Japanese at all. I wrote them in hiragana because you said you can read most of them, but since your name is foreign it would usually be written in katakana instead (so こコリン and コリーン instead).

Should I enlist and serve?

Question:

Do troops get the option to be stationed where they want and they choose japan and korea coz their easy for us?

Answer:

What kind of vinegar should I use?

Question:

Hey guys, I found a brownie recipe online, and it calls for 1 teaspoon of vinegar...

It doesn't specify what kind of vinegar, and I'm considering just not including it because of the small amount needed..

Any thoughts?

Answer:

The recipe probably means good old white vinegar. It may be being used as a leavening agent, so find a recipe that does not use vinegar if you wish to leave it out. I am pretty sure you could substitute Japanese Wine Vinegar or Cider vinegars.

Japanese- dake and shika?

Question:

From what I've learned, dake means only, and shika means except when you put the verb or adjective in a negative tense. But some translate both dake and shika to only, so it gets me pretty confused.

So if I wanted to say He's just weird, it would be: kare wa ha na/ okashii dake desu. (ha na and okashii both mean weird or strange ,right?)
And if I wanted to say Only he's weird, it would be: kare dake ha/ okashii desu. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Now I feel like I have no idea how to use shika. I've come across some confusing sentences, such as: Jonh shika konakatta. Which translates to only john came. Learning shika means except, I thought it would be everyone except john came. Another one that really puzzled me was: kimi shika aitakunai no. Translated to, I only want to meet you. Again, I thought this would mean I want to meet everyone except you, or something like that.

One last thing, what does dake shika nai mean :)?

So if anyone could help me make sense of this, and give me some easy romaji examples, that would be terrific. I'm really struggling with the matter, so any help is appreciated. Thank you in advance for your answers, if choosing to answer.

Answer:

Both mean the same: Only.
Dake is used in both affirmative and negative forms.
Shika is used in negative form only.
Ex.
Dake
1. Tom wa green tea Dake nomu (affirmative): Tom drinks green tea only.
2. Tom wa green tea Dake nomanai (negative): Tom does not drink green tea (but drinks everything else) or Tom drinks everything but green tea.

Shika
1.Tom wa green tea Shika nomanai (negative): Tom drinks green tea only.
Dakeshika is a stressing form of Shika, used in negative form only.

Do Japanese feel ignored now - 6 months after the earthquake - by the world?

Question:

or is there a mood of ambivalence regarding foreign aid and attention?

I feel as if we have moved on, which is rather sad but understandable given how fast the news moves in the 21st century.

Answer:

We all have short attention spans. And as for foreign aid, we've given a lot so far and I'm pretty sure they're still receiving some from us. It sounds callous but we have problems of our own to handle as we've been in trouble for a while ourselves.

What do you need to do or have get a work visa in Japan?

Question:

Answer:

An advanced degree and a company willing to hire you and sponsor your visa. Other than that - not too much. I will say that if you don't have an advanced degree and a qualifications / experience that put you head and shoulders above your Japanese contemporaries, you will not even be considered.

What's the difference between 「~ておく」 と 「~てある」の動詞形??

Question:

たとえば:晩御飯を作っておいて。
晩御飯を作ってあって。

Answer:

It's a difference of active and passive. ~ておく is used for active like when you are trying to do something.

On the other hand, ~てある is used for passive like something is being done. But your example with 晩御飯 is not so good because we do not say the latter so often.

Where can I buy Japanese cake in Manila?

Question:

The small ones wherein the batter used is similar to pancake batter and you put cheese in the middle of each one.

Answer:

My Goodness! You're asking about Japanese cake, and where you can buy it in Manila... on a US site!!! Are you hoping someone here has traveled to Manila and can provide you with the address and name of a place you can buy it? If you are IN Manila, which I'm assuming you must be, perhaps you should go out to a few place that sell food products, and see if you can find your Japanese cake. Or ask someone there.

Maybe you could just make your own.

I'll be going to Kobe for 4 days. Any suggestions for what to do in here?

Question:

I'velisted mount rokko as my plan tospend in a day. I don't know about 3 other days. Are Nankimachi (China Town), Sannomiya, Motomachi and Harborland can be spend in a day?

Answer:

The Herb and Flower garden is lovely, even in winter. Get the ropeway near Shin Kobe station to get to the garden. If you are going to Kobe brfore mid December you can go to the Luminare in the evening.
The other stuff you can cover in one day, China Town is one street. Kitano is the old foreign residents area and has some nice old houses. There is also a good City museum and great nightlife.
Why not get a train from Kobe to Osaka for a day, it's only about 20-30 minutes travelling time.

I live near Kobe, I love it.

What kind of tea cup is this?

Question:

There is a Japanese style of teacup that is quit broad (often about three inches or so) and very short (often about an inch or so)

It was originally used for tea especially during the summer months because it allowed tea to cool quickly. During later times it was used for saki.

The base (the part touching the table) is generally only about a third of the diameter of the cup rim, so in the instance of a three inch cup there would be a one inch circle base tapering up to a three inch wide rim.

These are often seen in Animism films as well as vintage samurai films.

Answer:

I think you meant hiragata. Found some pictures of sake cups for you :)
