What kind of tea cup is this?

There is a Japanese style of teacup that is quit broad (often about three inches or so) and very short (often about an inch or so)

It was originally used for tea especially during the summer months because it allowed tea to cool quickly. During later times it was used for saki.

The base (the part touching the table) is generally only about a third of the diameter of the cup rim, so in the instance of a three inch cup there would be a one inch circle base tapering up to a three inch wide rim.

These are often seen in Animism films as well as vintage samurai films.
