In my country, education is structure in 3 parts: initial (3-5 years), basic (6-14 years) and medium (15-18 years), and then higher education comes. Here, everyone has to go to school at least until 14 years old. Then comes university, but that's too hard for me to explain in japanese.

Do japanese students have to take foreign languages?. Here, we have to take english and french (and spanish as a native language). Do japanese too?
And how are you preparing for your big test? Are you getting trained?

I changed the part for schooling system being 3 parts. for initial, basic, and medium to pre-k, elementary-middle, and highschool. If it's not the right way, then you can use different expressions, i guess.
