How long does it take to drive from Kanagawa to Wakayama? Kanagawa to Hiroshima?

Question:

I'm writing a story and I need info on this. My characters simply refuse to ride the shinkansen. :P
Also, if you can include some popular tourist spot in Wakayama and Hiroshima, it would be really helpful.

Kanagawa -> Wakayama : 8 hours, Kanagawa -> Hiroshima : 11 hours.

There some good navigation site. And if you rent a car, you can select a cart with a car navigation system ("カーナビ" ka-navi in Japanese writing). But it is almost impossible to use if you don't know Japanese characters. At least, you have to specify where in Kanagawa or Wakayama more detail.

Moreover, there are really heavy traffic jams. I hope you won't get that.
