Can I roam in Japan with my Nokia E71?

Question:

I have to go to Japan from India for some days. I have Nokia E71 and Vodafone connection. Can I receive and make calls from there (with international roaming activated)?
I have dialed Vodafone costumer care and they have no idea about it :(

I'm not sure what a Nokia E71 uses, but there is no 2G network in Japan. If it uses 3G you will be able to make and receive calls in Japan.
