Japan car racing travel?

Question:

Im going to Japan, I want to take my boyfriend to see some crazy car racing/drifting/drag racing. anyone know of places in japan we can go to see this?

Answer:

Without knowing someone who lives there, that won't be easy. It's nothing like the Tokyo drift movies. Gas is over $7 a gallon, so most can't afford to use gas trying to outrun the police.
Many streets in Tokyo are too crowded, narrow, or winding to do any racing. A friend told me some racers now go in the hills at night. Away from traffic and the police.
