I am writing a Japanese letter?

Question:

I have a Japanese pen pal now but now I need help . How do you format the addresss
on a Japanese letter ? How does it go ? I have the address in Japanese and English .
The Japanese one looks like this .

Name
A Kanji character then 7 numbers
Then a whole line of Kanji Characters
Then the word "Japan"

Is that the way it goes ?

Now , is there a format in writing a Japanese letter as well ? I googled it but I didn 't understand it at all . Anyway thanks .

You can write the address in English, it will get to them since Japan Post reads English addresses without a problem.
