How much will it cost to go to japan?

Question:

ok im 19 and i want to go to japan and visit a friend but the problem is how much will i need?
i live in PHILADELPHIA, PA and i holp it dont cost over a $1000 because if it is i will have to save. but how much will it cost to go and come back from japan??
