What are some differences between...?

Question:

what are some differencess between the way Americans go about everyday life and how Japanese go about their everyday life?

Answer:

Followings are several things that I personally aware, regarding everyday life:

American people's reliance on automobile are much heavier than Japanese people.
Many of Japanese use more train/bus for commuting, shopping, and/or traveling, and many household wives ride bicycle for shopping.
This make many differences on many aspects of their everyday life. Many of office employees often go pub and have alcohol on the way back.
Everyday shopping by bicycle; they could not buy big amount at one time, plus their houses and their fridges are much smaller. Household shopping need to be more often, almost everyday or one another.

More women leave their work after they get married or they get children.

Regarding laundry: Japanese people love to hang-dry outside. They also hang-dry beddings and mattress, outside. If you walk around residential neighborhood in sunny days, you would see many laundries flapping outside. Even those who have dryer, they tend not to use it except on rainy days or night.

Japanese love hot-bath. It's one of Japanese people's happiest times in a day to soak in hot bath at the end of day.

Many of kids have no dedicated bed room. Many of them sleep in a same room as their parents until around they become teen ages.

Not many Japanese people kiss so much as Americans or Europians, even among wife and husband in personal spaces.

They take off shoes at the front door of houses. They can sit on the floor, and even sleep on the floor.
It's actually very confortable, once you get accustomed to.

They eat less. Avarage portion of luches are about 2/3 - 1/2, I guess.
