Do Japanese college students wear nice clothes to class?

I'm going to study abroad in Tokyo really soon and I want to take all new clothes since I've never been fashionable in my life... Will I be out of place if I wear nice clothes like skirts and dresses every day? I'm coming from a place where everyone wears jeans and hoodies every day. Is it the same in Japan?

It depends on each college. There is no general answer. Just go to your college a few days and see what kind of cloths they wear.

Generally, you can wear anything you want. Skirt is no problem.
