Did Hitler really have to be forcibly separated from General Heinz Guderian after altercation at end of WW2?

Question:

how true this story? (and heard that it was due to Guderian accusing hitler in front of general staff after Hitler was shouting at them for causing the loss of troops or an operation..)

Answer:

The last meeting of Gen. Guderian with Hitler was at a situation conference, where the General insisted on a strategic withdrawal on the Eastern front, stressing the imminent encirclement and certain annihilation of German troops trapped there. Guderian, possibly fired up with the drinks he had at an earlier meeting with the Japanese ambassador, stood face to face with Hitler, matched the dictator word for word, in short, it became a shouting match. Hitler was, as usual insisting on the German troops' holding on despite the desperate situation. Supported by his other yes-men officers, and court jesters, who assured Hitler that they can hold the position, Hitler refused to see reason and contradicted Guderian on every point.

Guderian was subsequently relieved of his post on grounds of "ill health", Hitler's euphemism to avoid giving the impression that there was dissension among his officers.

It was also Guderian, along with Gen. Heinrici, and later on Albert Speer, who had the will to tell Hitler to his face that the war was lost, thereby falling into disfavor.
