Why does Ryuichi Kawamura's (Luna Sea) face looks so different in these two photos?

Question:

Did he do the plastic surgery, put on weight or simply got older? I know it's non of my business but I could hardly recognize him when I got used to one look and another look?

Answer:

In the first photo he's much younger and thinner. His eyebrows also look like they're been plucked. The black and white photo makes his hair and eyes look darker than they really are.
You're right, those 2 photos look so different, but you can tell from the lips and eyes that it's him. I'm not digging the perm, lol!!
