I'm Japanese living in the UK and I was shocked when I first watched the program in the UK a few years ago. My husband (He is English) showed me that as a very famous japanese TV program. Younger Japanese generation include me don't even know the program as it was only on TV for 3 years from 1986.
It's very funny how they show the program outside Japan. In the UK, they translate most of wards as it is in the original but the american version is completely different. They just ignored what the Japanese said in the program and put their own words with american joke, funny but very rude...
