I want to know whether JR Yamanote (specifically bound to Shinjuku) for reserved seat only? Or I could just use my suica to get pass through the ticket gates? :) According to Hyperdia its around 197 yen from Nippori station right?

First there is no reserved seats on JR Yamanote line, the fare from Nippori to Sinjuku is 190Yen and it takes 23 minutes.
Yes you can use suika for any JR trains and private rail lines or subways.
