Japanese mushroom festival?

So my friend told me that from august 6 to ninth each year the japanese celebrate the mushroom and all the prosperity it has brought to them
but i searched it on google and didnt find anything.
so is it real?

Some local communities may have something like that. But it's not the entire Japan celebration. I couldn't find any particular festival in August.
