Big Earthquake in Akita?

Is it true that it was on the news few days ago that some experts are expecting around magnitude earthquake to hit Akita in the near future and that it is a possibility so that the plates can finally stabilize and the aftershocks will stop?

Answer:

In Japan, a lot of earthquakes occurs every year.
After the 3.11, I've heard a lot of rumors about next earthquake.
But I've never heard of earthquake in Akita.
A big one occurred in Akita about 30 years ago. I don't think the possibility is so high.

About Shizuoka, central part of Japan has been predicted a huge earthquake for 40 years.
Eruption of Mt.Fuji is predicted every year. I didn't hear about earthquake at northeast part of Japan before 3.11.
