Question:
A 7.2 magnitude hit's japan this night. What will happend to japan? Can tsunami come again?
Answer:
Earthquakes are a common thing in Japan because of where the country is located (above 3 major tectonic plate fault lines). Seismologists predict Japan will continue to have large earth quakes for the next 10-20 years (although no one can accurately predict when).
Tsunamis can occur any time from the larger of these earthquakes. However it depends where the epicenter of the quake is as not all large earthquakes will cause tsunamis.
