I know tha kusuzame means japanese angelshark but does it have some sort of deeper meaning? I was reading this story where a guy called his friend a kusuzame. what was the meaning behind him calling him this sort of name?

At first, japanese angleshark is kasuzame (not kusuzame).
"Kasu" means trash or dregs, "same" (zame) means shark.
So "Kasuzame" might means "worst shark" or something.
Maybe the guy just wants to say "you fool" or the friend looks ugly like kasuzame.
