Question:
My wife, though not a direct victim, is depressed after having seen the scenes of the recent Tsunami and continued explosions and fires of nukes in eastern coastal areas of Japan. Seeing her close friends (French) getting evacuated by French government on a chartered plane has added to her depression. It is painful to see her sigh all the time. How could I relieve her pain and suffering? (Her Ha-chi seems to help her a little.)
Answer:
I'm so sorry for all of the pain and suffering that Japan has had to endure over the past few days. I would think that what your wife is normal and that she is in mourning for her country. If she is depressed for longer than a few weeks then I would get her some counseling. Maybe, do a little extra for her while she is down.
