im about to go to Tokyo for 8-9 days..any suggestion for place for sight seeing? or any do and dont? im not into nightlife though...thank you very much

Some previous answers are already good. I would add a trip to Nikko and another to Kamakura. Nikko is only two hours by train and is absolutely a must to see. Wonderful place in UNESCO catalogue, be sure not to miss it. Another wonderful one day excursion is Kamakura. It's only one hour by train from Tokyo and also incredibly beautiful place. You should stop in Kita Kamakura and go on to Kamakura on foot, just walking from temple to temple. I strongly recommend not to miss this two places.
