Why are old people in Japan worrying about radiation?

Question:

By the time they get radiation sickness or cancer, they all probably die of old age

Answer:

Everybody in Japan is mad at the power plant disaster, but nobody, old or young, is worrying about radiation. We survived two nuclear bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. When our parents were young, the amount of radiation in the air throughout Japan was 1,000 times higher than it is today. Nevertheless, the Japanese still have the longest life expectancy in the world. We are still eating vegitables from Fukushima prefecture; still drinking milk from Miyagi prefecture. No problem!
