What is the best way to learn kanji?

What I'm asking is there any sort of method to learning it, or is it just simply write it out and memorize it?

Also, does it matter all that much to memorize the Katakana and Hiragana stroke order? If so I'll to practice that.

In order to be legible, correct stroke order is essential in writing Kanji, Hiragana and Katakana.
To learn Kanji: write, practise,memorize, write, practice, memorize, write, practice, memorize etc.
