Help! I have 3 questions about Shintoism:?

Question:

Help! I have 3 questions about Shintoism:?
Can you please give me about info about the the "san hikari" lit. "three lights") are the sun, the moon, and the stars, each with its own associated color and properties. I need some information about it.

Also can you give me some information about Ofudas which are tailsman used in Shinto shrines? Can you also give me info about The Imperial Regalia of Japan?

Answer:

You'd better narrow down your questions. It's too vague just to ask "info, about something".
It's like to say "give me info. about the Holy Bible". It's hard to answer.

Three lights: It's part of the polar star faith. It had been believed that the polar star is the load of heaven, and it control the world below them. The sun, moon, star in the san hikari represent servant of the load polar star. I don't know each has its own colors.

Ofuda: Yes, its talisman made of wood or paper. It would protect people from evil.

Imperial Regalia: Three objects, the Mirror, the Gem, and the Sword are the testament of the heir to the throne. People who hold these three could ascend the genuine imperial throne.

We are filipino citizen planning to get married in japan is this possilble?

Question:

we are filipino citizen my bf was working in japan and im just in a tourist visa ? it is possible that we can get married in japan even though we are filipino citizen what would be the requirements to show? please help

Answer:

Yes it is possible.

It will be done at the city office 市役所 "shiyakusho" (or ward office 区役所 "kuyakusho") in the area where your BF is living in Japan.

Since you are both not Japanese, the documentation varies, it is best to contact one of those offices for the required documents. Paperwork is the most important part.

In addition, the Philippine Embassy (or Consulate) in Japan might need to be notified, so check with them too.

Finally after your marriage is official, you can apply for a "DEPENDENT" Status to stay in Japan with the Immigration Office.

Japanese Pokemon cursing?

Question:

i was watching the first episode of best wishes and right around 1:30 team rocket curses is ti just the person who subbed it or do they really. Just out of curiosity.

http://www.anime44.com/pokemon-best-wishes-episode-1

Answer:

No. What you were watching is called fansub. They wrongly translate things and sub how they see fit.Such as excessive and unnecessary swearing. The Pokemon anime is a children's television program so no. If you mean words like "kuso" which translate into English as "damn", it's not really considered a curse word in Japan. But I haven't heard that word in Pokemon.

What's the name of this Song?

Question:

I can't find it anywhere T__T I kind of like it a lot.

I've typed in lyrics in Kana, Romaji, and even English, there are none!
I know it's probably sang by Ricky, Dasein, R*A*P, or (extremely doubtfully) Chrome Shelled.
I know it's Ricky's voice, that's all I can say.

It's the song at the beginning.

Night train in japan?

Question:

hey guys,
will be going to japan for a few days this august. will be going to hakone for a day then will be back in tokyo for the night. but to avoid this cost of accommadation, i am looking for some night train.

i have a japan rail pass and i want a night train to hiroshima from either odawara or tokyo. are there any such trains? and where can i find the timetables?

thanks!

Answer:

JR Pass does not cover all fares for a night train even if there is one between Tokyo and Hiroshima. You have to pay night train fee. So it's not a good idea to take a night train with JR Pass.

How long does it take to drive from Kanagawa to Wakayama? Kanagawa to Hiroshima?

Question:

I'm writing a story and I need info on this. My characters simply refuse to ride the shinkansen. :P
Also, if you can include some popular tourist spot in Wakayama and Hiroshima, it would be really helpful.
Thank you so much!

Answer:

Maybe it takes ...
Kanagawa -> Wakayama : 8 hours, Kanagawa -> Hiroshima : 11 hours.

There some good navigation site. And if you rent a car, you can select a cart with a car navigation system ("カーナビ" ka-navi in Japanese writing). But it is almost impossible to use if you don't know Japanese characters. At least, you have to specify where in Kanagawa or Wakayama more detail.

Moreover, there are really heavy traffic jams. I hope you won't get that.

Is tokyo japan a good place to live?

Question:

I went there when I was a teenager and always thought it would be so cool to live there. I loved japan so much. I also went to kyoto.

Answer:

Actually, I'm living in Tokyo. It is not so bad.
Tokyo is a little wide.
There are some good places to live in Tokyo, of course bad ones too.

My wife and I love Nishiogi where we are living. This is a really good town to live.
Kichijoji and Asagaya are also good places.

But we never want to live in Shinjuku, Shibuya or Roppongi. These are too crowded, noisy and expensive.

At least, if you want to live in Tokyo, you have to know that there are some earthquakes every year :)

What do these japanese words mean?

Question:

recently i keep hearing japanese words that sound familiar. And i searched them to find out what they mean but there are some that i couldnt find (probably i spelled them wrong)
If you have any idea what one of these are can you tell me? Thanks ^_^

sassoku
gorogoro
ko-iu-funi (i think i might know what this means from context clues but just to be sure)

There was alot more but Unfortunetly thats all i can remember right now

Answer:

sassoku:
It means immediately or right away. When using it in a sentence, it kind of has the meaning,"let's do___now."
Like in this sentence: "sassoku umi ni ikou"
"let's go to the ocean now."

gorgoro:
It has several meanings:
-it can be the sound word for the sound that a thunder makes, and sometimes it's even used as a sound word for the purring noise that cats make, and like the other person said, it can be a sound word for of something rolling
-it can also be used to describe the act of being lazy and just lying around doing nothing important.
used in a sentence: "gorogoro shitenaide hayaku shukudai yarinasai!"
Stop Gorgoro-ing (haha jap-glish!) and do your homework!
It makes sense that it's used in this way since a lazy person is pretty much just "rolling around" doing nothing.

ko-iu-funi:
It means "like this"
It can be used when explaining someone how to do something "like this" and stuff like that.
