Japanese boys do not think of Korean girls in particular. In other words, they see Korean girls just as one of other girls.

What are the chances of a japanese or korean man dating a hispanic girl?

Question:

i'm hispanic and i'm really attracted to japanese guys and korean guys ^_^ ... but what are the chances of me actually getting to date them? idk if they'd like me since i'm like an olive skin tone =\ (i'm also learning to speak korean and japanese if that helps knowing lol)

ps: what are the pros and cons of dating a japanese guy or a korean guy :)

Answer:

1- Mervin is a moron. If you are beautiful and sexy, you are going to attract men. It may not be PC, and you Christian/Creationists won't like this, but to quote Chris Rock, when a man says that he has a friend who is a girl he is simply saying that he has this female friend who he hasn't had sex with.......yet. You put an attractive package in front of a Japanese man and he is going to want to jump your bones. Nope, that isn't PC but it is the truth. Yeah, he'll feel all conflicted and s**t because you aren't Japanese, but those bones are gonna' get jumped.

2- Forget Korean guys. Not saying don't rule them out, just saying this isn't the place to ask about Korean guys. From what I know about Japanese guys? They'll give you and the family their entire freaking life, work insanely odd hours, never see their kids, come home to a plate of food covered in plastic wrap that thank god they can now heat up in the microwave before they take a bath and go back to the insanity yet once again the next morning. I don't have sex with Japanese guys. I don't have sex with guys at all. I can say that the Japanese friends I have are for the most part really cool. I did see my friend slam his putter into the green because of a missed putt, doing a LOT of damage to the green, and although I felt astonished he would do such a thing, another part of me said, 'Yeah, man, that's cool. F**k it! Feels good, huh?'

Now I am going to take a wild guess here and say that you are watching a lot of K-Pop and J-Pop. I hate to burst your bubble, but the majority of Koreans and Japanese neither look like those guys or can dance like those guys. (Thank you JESUS for that last bit.)

Now, you want me to be serious? I will. Because you really did try to be serious. If I could give you one piece of advice, I would give you this. And it is the same advice that I have given to both my daughters. One listened and talked about it, the other thinks she is too cool for school and that K-Pop is going to change the entire world order.

You need to sit down, get in a relaxed state of mind, open to ideas and then listen to what Phil Collins has to say on this matter. Check him out at.....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDX41GcA1…

When my girls were really too young to talk to me, and I was flying back and forth between Tokyo and Osaka, doing the standard Japanese Dad thing, I carried a piece of paper in my wallet saying that if anything ever happened to me, all I wanted was for my girls to listen to this song once in a while. It may not catch on at first, but give it time. So, you get a ThreeDayPriest serious moment. It doesn't matter Japanese, Korean or American. Or any other nationality. Somebody, IF you are lucky, will eventually speak to your heart. At that time, it simply becomes Namaste.

How to ask a Japanese girl out on a date?

Question:

The best way to say it in Japanese?? Please help...

Answer:

Hello. I am a Japanese guy.
If you want to ask for the first time date, you can say "Kondo karuku ocha shima senka?".
This means, "lets chat a while in the tea shop, will you?"
This implicitly conveys your request for a date. But since this expression is implicit, a girl finds it easier to say no, in case she feels uncomfortable. I say this to a girl if I want to ask her for the first date. I think many Japanese girls do not feel comfortable with a straightforward date request.

Do Japanese respond to stimuli?

Question:

Answer:

I hope this is a joke question. If so, it doesn't belong here. How old are you? If you are over 14 you shouldn't be participating in infantile behaviour. ThreeDayPriest nailed it for you. And if you don't believe him, try punching a few Japanese men in the head. That way, you could see for yourself.

What are good manga's for japanese beginners?

Question:

I want to read some mangas in japanese but i can't read Kanji, does anyone know any mangas that are written with Furigana, because I'm only a beginner in Japanese I can only read Kana. Thank you!!! oh and if you have any good recommendations for Japanese magazines with Furigana please leave a suggestion below to thanks!!

Answer:

I think pretty much all manga have furigana, for basic mangas to read... I think Shoujo (which is manga aimed at girls, mainly love stories) is best, coz it's not really technical and the dialogue are normal everyday things. I'd say the only thing you do need to know is probably a good amount of vocab although you learn that while reading manga anyway.

I bought: Love Complex while I was in Japan (but that has Osaka dialect in it so it might be a bit difficult to understand...)
maybe:
Hana Yori Dango
Hana Kimi
or even Sailor Moon (if you can find it, I think it's out of print)

Are you in Japan right now? because if you are, you can go to Book Off and just check out the manga and books there and see which ones you can read. If not, I'm not sure... but my friend read Bleach in Japanese, he said that he spent a lot of time reading the first book but it got easier and faster with more practice. So I think as long as you pick something you're really interested in then you can keep at it and practice more. (you feel like giving up sometimes, just coz it takes so long)

Also a lot of popular shoujo manga has been made into tv series so you can watch it as well and practice listening! :)
I hope that helps, sorry I didn't give many recommendations, I haven't really read manga in Japanese.

How do Japanese see their own Geisha?

Question:

Answer:

99.99% of the Japanese do not pay any attention to geisha.
Geisha is just another hostess for stupid businessmen who have no idea how to spend their money.
It's really weird to see many miserably-looking foreign tourists swarming around geisha house in Kyoto.

What requirements do I need to have to teach English in Japan?

Question:

I've heard that I need a university degree, (if so, a degree in what?)
But I've also heard I only need my TESL.
I'm so lost....please help. >.<

Answer:

In most cases in order to work full time in Japan you need to have a University degree and you also require the backing of a company in Japan to sponsor your visa.

Most recruiters for English jobs in Japan will require the following:

1. Native English Speaker
2. Full Bachelor Degree (in any field)
3. Basic Japanese Ability

The market is really competitive now so they also prefer teaching experience and qualifications such as ESL, TEFL or CELTA.
Salary is usually around 240,000 - 255,000 yen per month depending on experience and qualifications.

Teaching ESL in Japan: More information?

Question:

So, I've done a good amount of research for teaching English in Japan. Actually, a few more places like South Korea, Thailand, China and Vietnam. I looked at a few different programs and found relations to all but there were a few differences.
For an example, to teach in South Korea you simply need to have a Bachelors in any degree, have English as your native language and be a citizen of an English speaking country.
>So, first off, would anyone know if it is the same for Japan?
Also, on a website there is a choice of a public or private school. I would like to know, from someones POV, which one is better?
I would only like to work for a year or so since I would like to teach in a few other countries :)
Also, anything that you would like to comment about or add to help me would be greatly appreciated. Please leave out any rude remarks.

Answer:

It's the same. Some schools may have their own requirements, but in general any four year degree is enough. TEFL/TESOL is not needed, unlike some of them say. http://eslinsider.com/tesol-tefl-certifi…

More on requirements here if you sign up. http://eslinsider.com/

P.S. Within the next three or four days I am going to release a free ebook at the address above that will talk about public and private schools.

Good luck!

Are there drive-thrus in Japan?

Question:

I ask because I'm doing a speech on Japanese culture and a friend of mine from there said it wasn't a social norm to eat in your car, so I wondered if they have drive thrus at all? Like for McDonalds and stuff like that.

Answer:

There are many fast food restaurants with drive-through and you most likely find them in suburb. There are not enough space to have drive through at restaurant in city area.

Eating in a car is probably not as popular as in US, but Japanese do eat in a car.
They have cool inventions like these.

Can anybody translate (from Japanese to English)?

Question:

Hi I'm such a huge fan of these series (law of ueki, law of ueki plus) and I want these translated into english! (formally Japanese).
http://www.flickr.com/photos/66939645@N0…
http://www.flickr.com/photos/66939645@N0…

Answer:

One day about two years after the battle to decide the next god, Koseke Ueki, now Chugaku 3 nensei, (year 3 in junior high school), was involved in an incident where people all around the world lost their memories (cube) they had shared with their beloved ones.

He was forgotten even by his comrade Ai Mori, who had once fought the battle with him.
Ueki, the only one in the world who was spared having his memory eliminated, went on a trip with Wool into a different world called "Hanka-gai," to take back the memories of all people.

Then they started a fight in a bid to help out Milley, a girl who'd been chased by Ginzo, a debt collector, but they lost miserably, overwhemled by the unknown power that Ginzo possessed (job-specific power).

To possess that power (the ability to add some special effect to a certain tool), Ueki took the challenge posed by Nagara, the manager of a laundry where Milley was staying as a freeloader. Ueki made it through the challenge, got "Dogu-mon" (the palmprint required to possess the power) and became a possessor of the power.

Second picture ? you mean the second URL? I'll try. I don't care if I get the 10 points or not. I'm just doing this as my translation practice. Any part unclear? You can leave this without choosing me or anyone as a best answer then I can check if there's anhthing wrong or missing..

the second URL:

福地翼 (must be the author)
I am on leave now for a private reason. Honestly it hurts not being able to draw manga, which I dearly love. Letters of encouragement from you readers are helping me immensely. I hope the day will come soon when I can resume writing the sequel to the Ueki story.

the four-panel cartoon on the left (4コマ漫画 Is this the right way to say it in English? sorry I'm not sure)

In the first panel: One day Mr Ashi and people said something like this:
Hmmm. Looks like Milly has been shrinking in height lately.

third: next week

fourth: Hmmm. She got taller.

How are Japanese teens?

Question:

Well, through manga and anime I'm only given an insight about that stupid high school love and drama ****, nothing about how people on Japanese schools are.

I'm asking since I'm curious, and since I know that there's different from country to country on how people are. I believe that Americans are different from Norwegians for example.

What is Japan like? plz tell?

Question:

Ive always wanted to go there but I have no idea what it is really like. How are the people there? What are the schools like? Is it a good idea to raise a family there based off of the way the people act. What about the crime rate? And are there any rural areas at all? If you know anything or ther answers to these questions please answer.

Answer:

Well, the crime rate is really low. The number of reported cases where a woman has been raped is the lowest in the whole world.
The culture is unique, amazing ;)

The people are really friendly, but to be able to live in Japan, and most certainly if you wish to build a family there, you have to be able to be almost overly polite as well ;P well, for us non japanese it might be overly polite. So be careful to not offend anyone, their rules and lives are different from ours. Look up facts about these things on the internet ^^

The summers are really hot, the winters are cold ;P And the apartments are made to keep the summer heat away, not keep it in during winter xD

About the schools .. they have much more serious schools than we have. Their position in school (how good they are compared to the other students) mean a lot and they also have cram school which you can attend. They also have club activities after school and not too long holidays either ;P You have to wear school uniform in elementary school, junior to high school but when you are at university you don't need to anymore ^^
Your grades really mean a lot, after what I've read and heard.

But it's a good place to live in, in my opinion! <3 I myself plan to move there in a few years so if you wish to go there, do it! ^^ Japan won't disappoint you!

Hotels in the Heart of Tokyo Japan?

Question:

Okay, so my friend and I would like to visit Japan for about two months during the summer, right after we graduate high school.
Alright, so we really want the hotel in the heart of Tokyo because we honestly don't want to spend a lot of money on the locomotion(transportation).

If it's not too much trouble, I would love two hotels links, maybe not next to each other, because it would be nice to explore different parts of Tokyo.
We'll most likely be outside more than inside, so the rooms don't need to be large and expensive. We actually enjoy sleeping on the floor, so a Japanese style room isn't a problem.
Odds are we will stay in each hotel for about a month or so.

Answer:

There are so many hotels in Tokyo.

Air fare: You need $1000-1500 if you are departing from US

Hotel: Usually, you need $120 per night if you want to stay at a hotel.
If you want to save money, you need to stay at a hostel which will cost $40-60 per night.
If you want to stay at a luxury hotel, you need $250-300 or more.

Food, transportation and others: You need $60-120 or so per day. If you want to enjoy shopping, you need more.

So you need $120 for hotel and $90 for others per day. If you want to stay in Japan for 2 weeks, the total cost will be $2940.

Can I beat a dead horse too?

Question:

I seem to have struck a nerve with one of my rare questions. I knew such would be the case since it wasn't PC. But I was talking with a friend back in the States, who is thinking about coming to visit, (thus the RELEVANCE of this question to the forum), and because he doesn't speak Japanese, he is interested in meeting foreign women.

I told him that unless he can hook up with Luddite, that his choices of Caucasian women are going to be put into two categories....

1- Ugly
2- Damn ugly

I qualified the two choices above by saying that there are most certainly, there have to be, attractive foreign women in Japan, but that you aren't going to be beating them off with a stick.

Can I get an 'Amen', brothers and sisters?

And if not an 'Amen', then at least say that in taking off the PC mittens and calling ugly ugly, that I am saying what you are thinking.

And before RealAnswers chimes in, I am dead cold sober. No benefit of the doubt needed. Ugly is hereditary. No need to be ashamed. Just asking for an opinion on a sociological observation. And if it gets anyone's panties in bind, so be it.

Answer:

lol Threeday whats happening man? i see where you are coming from though. Perhaps the ugly ones are Eastern Europeans?

Probably the incident has been removed from your history books. But i think you have the right to know the truth. And i am just wondering how the japanese young people think about this.

Answer:

It is well known in Japan because it hasn't removed from our history books.

Will Sendai be safe to live in after 5 years?

Question:

I'm thinking about moving to Sendai after finnishing High School to attend a language institute, then pass the JLPT test and go to university there. :'>
Now, after this whole Fukushima thing, I wonder if Sendai will be relatively safe to live in after 5 years (when I'll be moving)?
Of course, I know that the radioactivity won't be gone. I just wonder if it will be okay to live there without facing direct danger everyday? ;P
Please no haters telling me not to go to language institute, or saying stuff like "whole japan will still be dangerous and there will be radio activity everywhere for many many years" cuz I ALREADY know that. But I really love Japan and I will go no matter what.
I repeat: please only answer "will it be ok to live in Sendai" ? >_<

Oh, and if you happen to know another city that will be even more safe to live in and that has a good language institute, then tell me that as well :'D <3
Thaaanks ~ <3

Answer:

"Tea Time" doesn't know what they are talking about. Radiation levels in Sendai are about 0.15uSv / hr currently (http://japan.failedrobot.com/), or about 1.2mSv / yr. You will pick up about another 1mSv from food etc. Considering that you get about 3mSv background living in Texas or most of Canada, and 6 - 18 mSv from a CT scan (and no-one in their right mind worries about the radiation risk from that), then you have nothing to worry about.

The question I would ask, is why spend 18 months of your life learning Japanese in order to try your luck with the EJU when most of the top ranked universities are starting to teach in English nowadays? If you want to study in Sendai (and why not? A fine place, I used to work there myself), then you could do worse than to study at Tohoku University (http://www.fgl.tohoku.ac.jp/). Don't be put off by the meagre course list at the moment - that will grow over the next 5 years. Tohoku is ranked 5th in Japan. Indeed, most of the top universities are internationalizing this way (http://www.uni.international.mext.go.jp/…

In short, nothing to worry about, nothing at all. You can email me if you have questions.

Question:

Answer:

And you're asking this in Travel Japan because...? Wouldn't it make more sense to put this in "Video Games"? And how is someone supposed to help you if you aren't specifying where you currently live? Assuming you live in America, try GameStop. Its going to be used though.
