Japan: Can anyone translate this?

Question:

Google sucks, and I'd really like to know what this says. Thanks in advance if anyone knows..

Answer:

Even in the past You guys were and still are talented, and are famous even outside of Japan.
some of the K-pop bands mentioned that they like to listen to Orange Range.
For Japanese, including Morning Musume, the past famous bands or singers stress too much on the ending hook(i'm not sure what this Kukuri he/she is talking about)
I don't like those fans who stop supporting their bands because of that.
They finally came out to the public since the last appearance. those fans shouldn't make such comments. If those comments were made by children, then it might have been ok, but those who were adults should been ashamed. It is a shame for them, those shameful adults to be corrected by me who is not even 18 years old. I know everyone has their likes and dislikes, and i cannot deny that. but stop treating them like they are past famous people.

hope it make sense?

10 pts. Japanese sentence structure...?

Question:

I know the structure is subject object verb, but I have two questions about that.

1. Do sentence particles >ALWAYS< come after >EVERY< word?

2. can you give an example, of >ALL< the sentence "terms" than can be used, and in what order are they to used? Example: 1. subject, 2. object, 3. verb, (insert next possible "terms")

Answer:

1. There aren't particles that come after verbs, so no.
2. Not at all sure what you mean by "terms," but before the verb things can be in almost any order. My old Japanese teacher taught us PPTOV - person, place, time, object, verb.

How much does it cost to have a car imported from japan to the U.S.?

Question:

i want to buy a Nissan Skyline from jaon but i want to know how much shipping it over here will coast can anyone help me? nd it would be better if you can just give me a plain number or an estimate. i know it has to do with wight imma say its about 2000-3000 pounds

Answer:

First it has to meet US safety and emission standards. If it doesn't, then you have to pay to bring it up to those standards.

You'll have to pay to have it sent to the port here in Japan. You'll have to pay to have it sent from the U.S. port to your house. (Picking it up yourself is an option, I think.) There's a lot of paperwork to be done so you need a freight forwarder. Ocean freight charges are going to run about $3000. I say this because it was going to be $2500 to ship a car from the U.S. to Japan about 5 years ago and with the oil increase, the price has surely gone up.

Interior designing in a university in Japan?

Question:

Is it necessary to finish a degree in Interior designing in a university in Japan to be an interior designer there? Or is it okay to finish the interior designing degree in a university outside japan then be an interior designer there?

Answer:

>Or is it okay to finish the interior designing degree in a university outside japan then be an interior designer there?

If we talk if it's OK or not, It's OK. But it's much better if you go to a Japanese university to study interior designing. In fact, there is no fixed license of interior designer in Japan.

That means that the job of interior designer is somewhat vague. If you want to work as an interior designer, you have to have a boss who orders you to do interior designing. If you do not, you can't work as an interior designer.

So it's better to go to a Japanese university because you will have more choice of jobs in Japan. And you can learn Japanese language, too.

I want to go to japan, but i would like to see the countryside, the temples and the mountains. Where to go?

Question:

Answer:

If you want to visit the countryside, I suggest the Chugoku region, which is the southern end of the Honshu Island. The region is made up of Hiroshima, Okayama, Yamaguchi, Tottori & Shimane. Most of these prefectures are very rural. It has many temples, shrines, farms, mountains and even a desert or sand dunes in Tottori. Mt. Daisen is also in Tottori.

Would South Korea be the best choice to teach English in?

Question:

Hi, I'm trying to figure out where to go and teach English. There are 3 countries that I would really like to work in but I'm not sure. I'm leaning towards South Korea, and I'll tell you why.
CORRECT me if I'm wrong but I feel even though Japan pays A LOT, the living cost are pretty high and I wouldn't be able to save a whole lot of money.
In China they pay very little, most provide free accommodation, but then again, it's very cheap over there. I know I wouldn't spend a lot of money, but they pay between $1000-1500 a month. I'm not sure about that.
And here is why I would choose South Korea, and you tell me if you agree.
From what I heard they pay WAY better than China but a little less than Japan. And it's WAY cheaper over there than in Japan. Would I save a lot of money?
Do you agree that South Korea is the best choice to teach English and save money?

Thanks!

Answer:

South Korea is probably your best place to be.
Make sure you understand the contract before going.
Often they will provide an apartment for you, and where you are in each country makes a big difference.
You do not want to be in a back water town in China.
You can make extra money tutoring students, nights and week ends.
Korea might be a little cheaper than Japan, but that depends on whether or not they are going to provide housing.
You are not going to save a lot of money, but if you don't spend much you can save around $10,000 per year.

How long until Tokyo will be okay to visit?

Question:

I really want to visit Japan but I was wondering if Tokyo is safe from radiation. If not now, when? Also, I only speak barebones Japanese, will I be able to comunicate in English? I don't want to embarrass myself.

Answer:

Japan is pretty safe to visit now. Japan was hit hard by the disaster, but only 0.1 per cent of Japan was affected by the tsunami. Most tourist attractions in Japan are now open, although some may have shortened opening hours to conserve power. All international airports are operating and this even includes Sendai Airport, which was damaged by the tsunami, and the bullet trains are all running as normal.

If you visit the major cities and tourist areas then you shouldn't have too much trouble as most people can speak basic English. I always recommend at least learning some Japanese before heading over to Japan. If you just learn the basics then it will make your experiences more enjoyable.

I'm going to Japan. Is it cheaper to exchange my money here or there?

Can you explain these Japanese verbs....?

Question:

と見なす
考察する
査察する
考える
~について思う
見当する
熟考する

because they all seem to mean "to consider." Which means what exactly? Please explain each. ありがとうございます!

Answer:

と見なす
This means "to regard as" or "deemed" E.g. "Employees on business travel shall be deemed to have worked the regular working hours irrespective of actual hours worked."
考察する
"to consider carefully" "to examine" E.g. "She considered the implications of ..."
査察する
"to inspect" E.g. "Officials conducted an inspection for compliance with fire safety."
考える
Lot's of translations for this one. Think, regard, consider, intend.
~について思う
"Think about" But unlike the above "考える" this is often used to signify that the preceding information is the speakers opinion, rather than the act of thinking itself.
見当する
I think 見当 means "estimation" or "guess" but I think you meant "検討" which means "to consider" or "to examine" E.g. "They will consider his proposal at the next meeting."
熟考する
"To contemplate"

Would u pls check my grammar and tell me your opinion as well .. japanese?

Question:

its kind of a research we are doing on advertising something in japan and it happened to be advertising for english teacher as giving normal people walking in the street this kind of an advertisement and see how they would react (its school project by the way)

英語が難しそう?
レベルアップしたい?
一緒に楽しく学びましょう
会話・読解・聴解・文法
英語が好きになっちゃうんだよ
よかったら
連絡待っています
:)

please check my grammar and tell me your opinion .... would japanese be interested in this or what should I change to make it more desirable ?

thanks a lot in advance :)

Answer:

>英語が難しそう?

It should be 英語は難しそう? But yours is also OK.

I think your ad looks too casual to use it in business. It's like Japanese a teenager wrote. So people would think that some students are doing this business as part-time.

Why do Japanese people hide their feelings around me?

Question:

One of my best Australian friend's girlfriend is Japanese. I know she's racist to Chinese because she says nasty things about Chinese people all the time to my friend, same with her parents and her Japanese friends. I do not blame them because everyone is entitled to their own opinions, I am in fact Chinese myself. However whenever I confront her, her dad or her friends they all shy away as if they are scared to even look at me, they don't even know me and I was never rude or anything.

Do they think they are being superior to me by not confronting me but prefer to criticise Chinese people in private?

Please explain.

I prefer they at least face me and say these racist stuff.

Answer:

Quite possibly they consider you to be too lowly and inferior even to condescend to talk to. That's called "honnne" (本音 ).

But they usually don't express such feelings of theirs openly to maintain civility in public. That's called "Tatemae" (建前, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tatemae).

Most Japanese are like that. It's not so much out of hate but of despise. They could even be polite to and treat nicely the likes of you in public occasionally, but deep in their heart you know what they are thinking, without exception. So don't be fooled when that happens.

Haircut expressions in Japanese?

kami o mijikakute, usuku natte hoshii.

I want to cut my hair short and thinned.

Is it safe to travel through Tokyo?

Question:

My family is flying from Taipei to Seattle via Tokyo airport.
I'm worried about being exposed to radiation if we travel through the airport or through Japanese airspace.
Any route that avoids the Tokyo airport is more expensive to the tune of at least US$1500.
That's a lot money to throw away based on an unsubstantiated fear of radiation exposure.
At the same time, I am uncomfortable ignoring the risk of radiation exposure while walking through the Japanese airport or flying through Japanese airspace, when I really don't know how dangerous it might be.
Where can I find reliable information that addresses this issue?
I am not asking for off-the-cuff opinions, I am asking for research/statistics/facts.
Anybody have information that will ease my Japan-o-phobia?

Answer:

Don't be silly Tokyo is fine and besides you are only transiting and you don't have to leave the airport. If there was radiation in the airport don't you think that it would have been evacuated long time ago? and how would you guys even land there when it is closed? don't listen to scaremongering it ain't good

Should I give up my Japanese nationality and get a EU passport?

Question:

I live in Europe (and will probably never live in Japan), so that makes sense, but.......

Giving up the Japanese passport (nationality) for good is hard.

Answer:

Japan doesn't officially allow multiple citizenship, but . . . if you don't blab about your EU citizenship, you probably will get away with it. I know a lot of kids who grew up in Japan who have dual citizenship . . . even as full-fledged adults. "Don't ask, don't tell." And use your Japanese passport when entering and leaving Japan. You'll probably be fine, and if they catch you, use the "gee . . . I was supposed to choose?" excuse. What can they do? Take away your passport? LOL!

How do i get my drivers license in japan?

Question:

I read that you can get your foreign license converted to a Japanese license but the only foreign license I have is an international license issued in japan. I currently have a SOFA license but I'm about to loose my SOFA sponsorship when i quit my job and marry a Japanese national.

Answer:

You do not need to get any other license if you have an international license. You can drive in Japan.

BTW, you need a license of your country before getting an international license. So I wonder how you got international license if you do not have any other.
