Please help me identify this Japanese movie?

Question:

I don't understand Japanese, but from what I remember/could discern about the movie is that it's centered around a guy who looked like he's tracking down this girl who was a photographer. I don't know the nature of their relationship. The plot looks like it's about the guy trying to find the whereabouts of the girl by following her footsteps which she had documented, I think, through photographs (and maybe letters or email). It's revealed in the end that the girl died. In the beginning, it looked like she had moved away to a city, and lived with another girl who wanted to be a model. The photographer did the aspiring model's portfolio, and when they were presented to some talent scouts/agents, they focused more on the photographer's works instead of the model herself. Apparently, the model got jealous and killed the main girl.
I think the guy's name is Makoto? And the photographer was this cool, upbeat girl who liked to eat noodle soup with mayonnaise.

Please help me identify the movie. Thank you!

Answer:

i think it is called Renai Shashin - Collage of our life.

i'm not sure about the ending the girl being killed but i have read the book that has different ending to it.

Is the Tohoku region of Japan safe?

Question:

Will be traveling and living in the Tohoku region of Japan in September. Not exactly on top of news to the hour. Will there be radiation that'll affect me in the long run or will it be generally unsafe to consume water or vegetation, etc.?

Answer:

The other half of the region (Akita, Aomori, Yamagata) should be safe. By September, hopefully the trains going in there should be fine at that time.

The radiation problem is only in a part of the Fukushima prefecture. And hopefully by September it won't get worse. The food and water coming from the area near the nuclear plant is controlled and banned so no need to worry about it.

No one can really tell what can happen during the next few months, so I suggest you just stand by and get updated for more news coming.

If it doesn't go your way, there's still other parts of Japan you can travel. Like the Kyushu and Chugoku region.

Will japan reach bankruptcy?

Question:

if so when and what will the results be.

Answer:

You don't seem to understand the power of Japanese economy.

1) Japan is the 3rd largest economy in the world (in terms of GDP)
2) Japan has the 2nd largest foreign exchange reserves: more than 8 times the amount of the US.
3) Unlike most of the debt ridden countries, including the US, Japan has no foreign debt at all.
4) Unlike the US, almost all of Japan's national bonds are borne by domestic financial institutions.
BTW, Japan holds 882 billion USD national bonds, which is 20% of all the US bonds held by foreign countries.
5) Japan's national savings: 1,500 trillion yen (18.75 trillion USD) is the world largest.

Do you think Japan will go bankruptcy? If you think so, tell me why?

Can you listen to this and tell me what the singer is saying?

Question:

In one of my favorite songs, "1+1=3" from Mother Ninja. For most of their songs I know what they are saying [in Nihongo and English] but I can't figure out what Aboo [the female singer] is saying. Here's a link to Mother Ninja's homepage

Can you please tell me what she's saying [in Japanese please] before the music fades out? All I can make out is "1 + 1こたえわさん... (1+1, kotae wa san....)" Thanks in advance! ありがとうございます!

Answer:

「1+1=3

Are the Japanese planning to kill us?

Question:

i heard that they had some nuclear facilities with high activity, are they going to try to make a pearl harbor 2?

Answer:

No, but, we just want to teach you how horrible it is to be a victim of nuclear weapons.
If you are so afraid of radio activities, you can understand the cruelty of nuclear bombs, right?
140,000+ people were killed on the spot and 60,000+ people died of cancer and blood illness caused by radio activities in Hiroshima alone.
Can you justify your nuclear bombing on Japan in retaliation for our attack on Pearl Harbor?
This is the lesson we want you to learn.

I think it would take a couple of years months ofter it gets back to normal?

What is the difference between these two phrases?

Question:

What is the difference between these two phrases?

Watashi wa … to iimasu.

Watashi no namae wa ... desu.

And which one is more common to say in Japanese?

Answer:

direct translation is:
a. Watashi wa … to iimasu. --> I'm .....
b. Watashi no namae wa ... desu. --> My name is ....

a) is more common. But if it's for colloquial, you can leave "watashi" out, or "... desu" is enough between friends.
"watashi wa .... to moushimasu" is more formal.
b) rarely used in daily life. It sounds like the beginning of an autobiography to me.

I'm going to Tokyo in August...?

Question:

Do you have any suggestions of cool/cultural sites within Kanto, preferably not too far out of Tokyo to see. Mainly I want at least one really good Temple to visit

Answer:

Tokyo is a great place to visit and you will never run out of new things to do and discover.

The highlights of Tokyo include, The Imperial Palace, Meiji Shrine; Asakusa district famous for Sensoji temple and Nakamise shopping street with cheap, antique kimonos, geisha bags and beautiful paper products, Sensoji temple, and the Kappabashi kitchen street for those plastic replicas of food seen in restaurant windows. Ueno for its park and museums, Akehabara for electronics, Shinjuku for its shopping with its huge Takashimaya department store and food hall, Tokyu Hands eight level craft store and Uniqlo store for really cheap, high quality, basic clothing, Harajuku for cheap shopping and Japanese street fashion, and Shiodome for entertainment.

Other places of interest include Shibuya for its famous intersection where the style tribes gather and Shibuya 109 the 10 level fashion emporium. Rappongi traditionally known for its nightclubs and bars, but now for its numerous upscale boutiques, smart cafes and Rappongi Hills with the 52 storey Mori building and Tokyo City View a walkway that wraps around the building offering 360 degree views stretching as far as Mt Fuji. Ginza for Matsuya department store and food hall.

What can the radiation from japan do to a human?

Question:

I heard it can kill you but what is radiation & why do you die from it? I also heard we got I believe it's three if not four of those things in California & if those blow the entire US can die?

Answer:

Exposure to radiation over a long period of time increases your risk of cancer.

Short exposures to a lot of radiation cause radiation sickness. If it's not too much, it'll mostly consist of nausea. The worse forms of radiation sickness are very bad and painful at first, then for a few days you feel pretty okay compared to before. Then your organs fail...

In Japan, most people only have to worry about the increased risk of cancer. Radiation sickness shouldn't be an issue except for people working at the plant.

Learning Japanese CONFUSED?

Question:

So iv started learning Hiragana Symbols but I keep trying to understand Japanese from an English point of view

So when I was learning the first few syboils it was simple

A
I
U
E
O

Everything was good until I got to Ka, Ki, Ku...... which has really confused me

So my Question is: When learning Japanese, should I completely forget about English. Because I am really mixing it up.

PS: Does anyone have advise on learning a new language?

Answer:

I think it'll be best for you that when you are writing the character out on paper, don't think:
き = K I

Don't read it. It's not K I. It's the sound, KEY.
Once you train yourself to forget the actual romaji being used and focus on the sound it'll come a little easier to you.

Here's my son's favourite song. He is a new 2 year old, 25 months exactly, and we've been working on him reading the Japanese alphabet since he is half Japanese. So far he can only reconize the あ い う and え but it's a start for his age!

We're moving from the US to Japan. Japan has a very high humidity. What type of furniture would be best?

Question:

We're looking at leather, microfiber and fabric. Which would be best in high humidity conditions?

Answer:

It depends on place and season how much humid it really is.

It's very humid on Pacific side like Tokyo in summer. But I don't think you have to care about furniture. We have air conditioners after all.

What do the Japanese use to put the smiles on there food?

Question:

like, is it icing or, bean paste?? here are some pictures of Japanese smiling food :D http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http…

here's another one : http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http…

Please copy and paste.

Answer:

With eggs and hamburgers, it's usually ketchup. With rice balls and weiners, it depends on the size. Anything can be made out of nori-seaweed, using kitchen scissors to shape the face parts. Sesame seeds make good eyes for tiny things. Slivers of carrot, green pepper, colored pepper, ham or scrambled egg can be used for good effects -- just use kitchen scissors to shape them a little more. Olives also make good eyes for bigger things (black or green).

You can also use "sauce" (a kind of worchestershire sauce used for tonkatsu) to draw things, too. If it's small, use a toothpick as your paintbrush. (Oh, and if you are making tiny eyes on a hot dog octopus, use the toothpick to make a hole, and then stick the sesame seed in so it doesn't fall out. Same goes if you are making a carrot nose on a hot dog or whatever.)
