I heard it can kill you but what is radiation & why do you die from it? I also heard we got I believe it's three if not four of those things in California & if those blow the entire US can die?
Answer:
Exposure to radiation over a long period of time increases your risk of cancer.
Short exposures to a lot of radiation cause radiation sickness. If it's not too much, it'll mostly consist of nausea. The worse forms of radiation sickness are very bad and painful at first, then for a few days you feel pretty okay compared to before. Then your organs fail...
In Japan, most people only have to worry about the increased risk of cancer. Radiation sickness shouldn't be an issue except for people working at the plant.
