What is the name of the drink in this commercial?

Question:

An office lady is drinking something on a balcony while another worker talks to her, then she takes a sip and shouts the name of the beverage, and the other office guy gets wet. I can't remember the name of the drink though and it's bugging me?

Answer:

It's a chu-hi ad. Very funny. Ha ha. Just a barrel of laughs. Ha ha. Can't stop laughing. Ha ha.

Ha ha. You think that is funny, you should see some of the shows. They will hit each other on the head with big plastic hammers that go 'beep' when they hit you. Very funny. One young girl has big eye brows and acts very silly. Very funny. Ha ha.

American only has Robin Williams, Chris Rock, Dave Chapelle, Katt Williams, Richard Pryor, George Carlin and other bad comics such as them. Ha ha.

You want to see funny? Watch a couple of Japanese policemen confront a really drunk salaryman on a train platform and watch the police get shoved around by the drunk. The police don't know whether to piss or go blind. I think they are just waiting for the drunk to realize he is breaking the law, change his behavior, apologize and go home. And watch funny stuff on TV. Ha ha.

@ Giogio..... actually meant nothing directly at you. I just don't find Japanese television to be funny, at least in the 'ha ha' way of thinking. You were just in the line of fire. I get my fill of Japanese TV just visiting the in-laws house and having my wife turn the garbage on here and there. And the comedy has to be the worst part of it. If you want to laugh, watch this.....

Why are Japanese people so afraid of catching a cold?

Question:

It might be a bad source to base this question off of, but in any anime I've seen Japanese people are always super scared of colds. They treat it like a really big deal, making it seem like the person could die. In America from what I gather when someone catches a cold it's no big deal at all, nobody worries much, and it's assumed you'll be fine quite soon.

I read some stuff about why you could be more susceptible to catching a cold in Japan, but couldn't find anything about why they take them so much more seriously and worry so much more about them. Again, it could just be extra drama for an anime and not reflect real life as much, but I'm not sure.

Thanks

Answer:

Japan is a very hygienic country. People wear masks if they are sick.

Even in America I think it is nasty if someone sneezes or coughs without covering their face or even washing their hands. Japanese generally have a slightly higher standard when it comes to that type of stuff.

You catch a cold = sick, sick means you miss work or school which means you fall behind.

Common sense that make the Japanese school and work ethic stronger then what you find in America, which unfortunately lags behind.

A another Question about the V--ROCK Festival!?

How many Japanese know english?

Question:

I have heard that they learn english in school and that many english teachers only speak english in class. However I have not known Japanese to speak english. So how many Japanese can speak english? Also is english class mandatory or like an elective?

Answer:

There's a difference between knowing a language, studying a language and actually speaking a language.

I know many people who might understand/know parts of a language, but can hardly speak it.

Japanese people learn English by the book, they don't actually take classes on how to speak it. You learn it, you take the test, but if you never use it in real life you forget.

If I were to take another subject for example. We all learn things like Chemistry and the periodic table in school, most people in most developed countries like the USA Right? Well we learn, we take the test, we pass then we never hardly use it (unless we become scientists) we forget.

There's no data that can tell you how many people actually speak English. How would you gauge this data? Speaking a little, a lot, etc. It's like when people say, more people in China know English then Americans.

There Japanese who might better at reading and comprehending various parts of the English language because they studied it academically, however speaking it is another ball park.

I totally understand the feeling. I remember studying French way back in school. I can understand a heck of a lot and read as well, but when it comes to actually speaking French, I butcher it and is not representative of my knowledge of actual French.

Where can i get a degree to move to Japan?

Question:

I live in the UK and know all about the working visa's and all that.
What I want to know is where can I get a degree? Can I get it at College or University?
Could i get one at college? (Because to go to university here in UK it costs a f**k load of money).
Thanks :)

Answer:

Usually only universities give out degrees, but some colleges do too. A bachelor degree (the first degree you would get at university) usually takes 4 years to complete, but sometimes there are 3 year courses. University might not be as expensive as you think, particularly when you think of the benefits of having a degree.

What are you going to do in the meantime anyway? Work? Where's the fun in that if a few years later everyone's got a degree and can go to Japan anytime they want, meanwhile you're on the chain gang?

If you want to live in japan at 19 with a friend can I an were should I live?

Question:

Answer:

You usually need working or student visa to live in Japan.

For working visa, you have to get a job offer from a Japanese company. But you can't look for a job in Japan without a visa. So you need it before you enter Japan.

For student visa, you have to be admitted to a Japanese college. You need to pay tuition and living cost for 4 years. It could be about $100,000.

Japanese help please?

Question:

what does it mean?
すごく会いたいです 会って話がしたい

Answer:

I'd really like to see you. I'd like to talk to you.

(about someone)
I'd really like to see him/her. I'd like to talk to him/her.
------
Actually I chose "see", not "meet" (if you're a native English speaker, you should know the nuance more than me.)
If you and the person have known each other (e.g. on net) and the person is interested in meeting you, "I'd like to meet お目にかかりたい/お会いしたいです”, but my guess is that it's not in a business-like situation. Some personal feeling may be contained.

Anyone know cool facts about Japan?

Question:

Thanks i really need it! i want just like weird, interesting, and cool facts.

Answer:

It is the prophesied kingdom of the 10 lost tribes of Israel. Shinto is actually Judaism.

Ezekiel 37:15-25 NKJV

Again the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “As for you, son of man, take a stick for yourself and write on it: ‘For Judah and for the children of Israel, his companions.’ Then take another stick and write on it, ‘For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel, his companions.’ Then join them one to another for yourself into one stick, and they will become one in your hand.
“And when the children of your people speak to you, saying, ‘Will you not show us what you mean by these?’— say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Surely I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel, his companions; and I will join them with it, with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they will be one in My hand.” ’ And the sticks on which you write will be in your hand before their eyes.
“Then say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Surely I will take the children of Israel from among the nations, wherever they have gone, and will gather them from every side and bring them into their own land; and I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king over them all; they shall no longer be two nations, nor shall they ever be divided into two kingdoms again. They shall not defile themselves anymore with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions; but I will deliver them from all their dwelling places in which they have sinned, and will cleanse them. Then they shall be My people, and I will be their God.
“David My servant shall be king over them, and they shall all have one shepherd; they shall also walk in My judgments and observe My statutes, and do them. Then they shall dwell in the land that I have given to Jacob My servant, where your fathers dwelt; and they shall dwell there, they, their children, and their children’s children, forever; and My servant David shall be their prince forever.

Shinto was fabricated by Jewish immigrants, then
If the emperors are descendants of Judah (David) this prophecy will be skillfully fulfilled.
While native Japanese are descendants of Ephraim (with YAP mutation) comparrd to unicorn in Deuteronomy by Moses (as mistranslation in Septuagint, Vulgate, and King James).

Find lion and unicorn komainu in shinto shrines.

Jeremiah 16:13 NKJV

Therefore I will cast you out of this land into a land that you do not know, neither you nor your fathers; and there you shall serve other gods day and night, where I will not show you favor.’

Deuteronomy 33:17 KJV

His glory is like the firstling of his bullock, and his horns are like the horns of unicorns: with them he shall push the people together to the ends of the earth: and they are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and they are the thousands of Manasseh.

Genesis 48:17-20 KJV

And when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him: and he held up his father's hand, to remove it from Ephraim's head unto Manasseh's head. And Joseph said unto his father, Not so, my father: for this is the firstborn; put thy right hand upon his head. And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it: he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations. And he blessed them that day, saying, In thee shall Israel bless, saying, God make thee as Ephraim and as Manasseh: and he set Ephraim before Manasseh.

Do you know how long a kimono sleeves are with measurements?

Question:

what size are they from right to left and down and up from the shoulder

Answer:

It depends on the size of the person they're made for. Most kimono are custom-made for the person who buys them, so measurements like the wingspan (measure from wrist to wrist with your arms outstretched), shoulder width, height, total width, and even sleeve length (how far the sleeve hangs down from the arm) all depend on how big the person buying the kimono is. The only real exception to this is the measurements for different kinds of furisode sleeves, which are usually pretty standard. The longest version of furisode sleeves are around 40-44 inches long. If you want to get an idea of some typical kimono measurements, look at the kimono for sale on places like Ichiroya. But also keep in mind that most of those kimono are made for Japanese people and all tend to be around the same size, so they often have very similar measurements. If you are trying to make your own kimono, you need to know YOUR measurements.

ETA: I should be a little more clear...while there is a general range of sleeve lengths that is typical, the EXACT sleeve length varies depending on your other measurements and proportions. For example, a shorter-style women's sleeve might fall at the hip with the wearer holds her arm out to the side, but if you take two wearers who are different heights, one might have sleeves that are longer than the other (but the sleeves fall to the same point on the body for both of them).

Place in Japan with a bridge and river...?

Question:

In manga they always have this place where the character goes to lay down in a grassy sloping area next to a river and bridge? There's usually children and bikers around this area too. what place is this in Japan?

Answer:

I know that place. I used to live near it in Tokyo. There was this river, the Edogawa River, and it had a bridge. That MUST be it, huh?

Oh, wait, you said the 'm' word. Manga. Sorry, manga isn't real. Your question is real though. Real <insert negative adjective of your choice>.

It's all moot though. Another Asker has found out that Japan itself doesn't even exist. You guys ought to get in contact with each other. Maybe if you can prove the bridge exists it will prove Japan exists.

Good luck. Now, shoo.

Towns near Tokyo or Yokohama or other major Japanese cities?

Question:

I would like to get a teaching position in Japan (preferably with Interac, I'm thinking) within easy traveling distance to a major metropolitan city (for example, within an hour train ride), but without the sky high rent you can expect living in Tokyo or Yokohama. Would anyone have any recommendations of where in Japan the cost of living would be affordable, without being too rural?

Thanks, and sorry for sounding so ignorant.

Answer:

Tokyo or Yokohama have huge bedtown areas around them. So you can choose any one of them as a place not so expensive and near Tokyo or Yokohama.

Do you rate TMO after a tour conversion?

Question:

My husband came to Okinawa, Japan on an unaccompanied tour, then when he re-enlisted his orders were changed to accompanied. I am trying to get all of our stuff in storage TMO'd out here but HQMC is telling us that we can't because he originally came out here on an unaccompanied tour. Is this true? If so is there any kind of order that I can read that states this?

Answer:

As always with this, your husband needs to ask his commanding officer. Even if you get an answer here, you can't take it to the bank. If you're trying to say that they won't let you get your stuff out of storage though, something doesn't sound right.

How to say this in japanese?

Question:

1. this place have good food.
2. we'll probably be back :)
3. we had a great nigh.
4. thank you

Answer:

Kate used machine translation. Those sounds unnatural save 4.
I agree to Tea Time, and if I add something...I assume these 4 sentences are series in a same mail or something. 2. because 1, and 3. because 1. too. these are connected each other.
I translated 4. as past tense because somebody say thanks to you because you introduced or guided a nice restaurant on that night.

1 ここにはおいしい料理がありますね。
2 (私たちは)たぶんまた来ます。
3 素晴らしい夜を楽しみました。
4 ありがとうございました。

Anybody knows what かにひら in Chinese or English means?

Question:

Or what its translation in direct Chinese is?

BTW The language is Japanese ^^

Answer:

It's a proper noun, so it can't be translated.
If you need it, try transliteration into Chinese characters like 可口可楽 as Coca cola.
I tried google translaton. The result was 希拉是否.
Is this available for you?

http://translate.google.co.jp/?pq=%EF%BC…

I googled it, though I've never heard かにひら.
It's name of 3DCG designer.
It looks like his designed character and the stage is very popular, called "Kanihira model".
That's all I could know.

Is it true that Japan is a lie?

Question:

I got told that Japan doesn;t actually exist and that it's a lie. Is this true?

Answer:

The Asker is a conceptualist.
Or maybe just really thick.
