Going to abroad with late registration of birth certificate?

Question:

Answer:

Congratulations, you have just worded your question in the most unintelligible manner as any post I have seen in a while.

Taking a WILD guess, you are talking about the birth certificate of one of your children? If you are from the U.S., and perhaps a lot of other countries, there's no worry as the kids can travel on your passport. But you should brush up on your 'asking question' skills before departing for your trip.

It's not easy. You need to contact their agents or managers if you want to arrange meetings.
And most of the talent agents are snobbish to pointless agendas like yours.

Where would you like to go or what would you like to do in Japan?

Question:

Hi! I'm a Japanese student.
If you have a chance to go to Japan, where would you like to go or what would you like to do there?
Please add some reasons.

Answer:

Hey!
I did already see many places in Japan.
So now: Where I want to go again:
- Tokyo (great city, lots of things to do)
- Nagano Prefecture (beautiful nature and mountains and very good soba noodles)
- Kyoto (very beautiful city with many old buildings and lots of things to do)
- Mt. Fuji (I really liked this mountain and I want to come back and see the view without fog :-))

Where I want to go but haven't been before:
- Oosaka (should be a very cool city)
- Kobe (interesting city and I have some friends there)
- Takamatsu/Shikoku (because Haruki Murakami's Kafka on the Shore is set there)
- Hiroshima (to see the Nuclear Dome and because it should be a very interesting city)
- Hokkaido (Sapporo Snow Festival, Sapporo Beer and maybe skiing in Japanese Mountains)

I could continue this list very long, your country is very beautiful.
Hopefully the problems around the hitten areas and nuclear power plant will soon be under control so that I can come again.
I really love Japan! ;-)

Is it hard to become an idol in japan?

Question:

.......:))

Answer:

it is very hard even for a Japanese, let alone a foreigner. Foreigners do appear in variety shows though, as a stepping stone into becoming an idol. Or they are pretty good singers. But overall, foreigners are very rare in Japanese show business.

E.g. of foreign bands that I can think of is Monkey Majik, but only 2 of their band members are from Canada.

Looks and personality, as well as skills. You need to be able to talk well, be well to fans, act cute, act, sing, dance, etc...

Being cute is really important for being an idol in japan. And you probably need to be Japanese, or at least half Japanese.

you will be surprised how good Japanese post is. My parents mess my address up all the time, and it remarkably still makes it to my house.

Japan
starts with large geographical area and works its way down. we do the opposite.

(Don't forget to write Japan boldly--so it doesn't get sent to Jamaica.)
And for heavens sake don't forget the postal code. (7 digit number)

Question:

their radiation stuff in the sea they claim it is low levels but dumping 11500 tons in the sea how fast does waters flow and will these folks in japan treat water before it goes to far

Answer:

Yes to answer your question they are dumping radiation into the ocean.

No they cannot treat the water once its in the ocean, there is no means to scoop it up and bring it back, its already there.

Its a choice between that, or letting the plant catch fire and spread radiation throughout the entire planet through the air.

Question about a health care in Japan.?

Question:

How much average Japanese family is paying for the Health Insurance. I have no idea, but I suppose it's less than we pay in USA. The health care system in America is terrible. Do you have any idea? Or do you know any site to investigate this matter?

Answer:

First, please understand that health care system in Japan is completely different from American one.

We have National Health Insurance which is an unified health insurance and everyone in Japan must join.

That means insurance cost is unified and decided by the government. It's not each person who decides how much to pay. And it's withheld from your salary every month if you are working as an employee.

Anyway, if you want to know how much we are paying, it's about 30,000 yen a month for an average person. It depends on your income.

Japan Leaking Reactors: why not encase them in concrete?

Question:

Thats what the Russians did, but they did not have some company that caused the leak in charge of stopping it. This situation is just like the Gulf Oil spill, a corporation has inside knowledge because they have control over the leak, therefore they can control the real estate market in the area.

Answer:

In case of Chernobyl, that method was possible because its reactor exploded and did not have to cool down.

In case of Fukushima, its reactors are still very hot and first have to cool down before encasing them in concrete.

Wanna move to Japan, What should I know?

Question:

I`m going to japan for an exchange program, I`m not going for a few years but I want to learn what I will need to know. Like what should I know about eating? I know eating in japan is different from america. What would someone from america need to know about Japan? Im planning on becoming a Manga creator. What is a good town? Ill pick the best awnser from who ever provides the bet info. Even a link could work.

Answer:

Unless you already know Japanese, I would prepare some important phrases that you may need, to get by.They say most people in Japan can speak english but this isn't true.

If you cant speak japanese, dining at a restaurant can be a bit of a hassle as most menu's are in Japanese and If your picky like me then make sure you know what your ordering. I got deep fried chicken gristle...I thought I was ordering chicken (meat).

When paying money you place the money on a little plate kind of thing that sits on the counter

I haven't used a public phone but home phones are normal and easy to use. Their mobile phones are so cool! but they dont take sim cards they are only on plans.

Getting train tickets is easy as the machines have english

The trains are daunting at first but once you get an idea of areas that are nth est sth wst in the city its very easy as you just follow the colour of the train line

When ordering from fastfood or low key restaurants I got by saying "Sumimasen kore o kudasai" and then I pointed to what I wanted and finish with arigato... very simple and easy and I had no problems ordering. Except if they asked me a question and I would just say "hi" to anything, I had no idea what they were asking but I never encountered a problem.

My favourite place to stay so far was shinjuku but im heading back to japan this month and staying in osaka so it may change...
Sendai is a beautiful place too!

When in Tokyo if you understand the train lines its hard to get lost when walking the streets of say akihabara shinjuku etc as there are so many metro train stations around your bound to bump into one and then catch the train back to where ever you wanted to be.

Sorry im not sure of what else to write!

Just study the railway map
eat fastfood when not sure
and curry rice and ramen is the best!!
Dont stress too much over the simple things as hand gestures go a long way
And always be polite and be on your best behaviour as the Japanese show the same respect to you.

Could a Japanese person please fix my 日本語 essay?

Question:

Answer:

I am Australian. Japanese ( nihongo) is difficult.
i interviewed 2 young men , 2 young women and 2 old men about their health. i asked them 6 questions.

the first one said '' im smoking''.
the old one. he's been smoking for 50 years.
'' i want to stop , but i can't '' he said.
when he was young , he knew that smoking is bad for him.
the other old man said '' i was smoking.'' but he stopped.

the young men are not smoking.
that is the same for japanese and australian.

in 2010 , 23.9% of japanese are smoking.
but in 2007 , 19% of australian are smoking.

in that 6 persons , only one of them is doing an exercise.

an NGO ( Non-government organization ) called OECD said
in 2010 49.6% of australians are fat
and 21.4% for japanese.

maybe the health and food of australians are bad ( food = proper diet)

in 3 australians i asked , only one of them is maintaining proper diet.
while 2 japanese is maintaining their proper diet.
the 2 old men are maintaining their proper diet but maybe it is because they are old.

i think the 6 people i asked are all important.
they answered differently.

5 out of 6 of them said '' the time for relaxation is very important.''
while the other one said '' walking in hillock is good.'

sleeping , meeting with doctors , laughing and playing are the health of the people i asked.

the 2 australians said '' doing nothing and have to do something is not all about health.''

i hope it my help :) goodluck with your japanese essay.

When would this phrase be used in Japanese: 回光返照?

Question:

I believe it means something like a final surge of activity before dying.

When would someone use that though? What sort of context?

Answer:

It is not Japanese. It should be Chinese.

<Sorry. Here is a correction>
Yeah I have checked to find that it is a concept used in a faction of Zen which originates in China some 750 years ago. A kind of Commandment?

What I have found is: Its literal meaning: the sky brightly glows in the west refecting the sunlight when the sun goes down. Thence it means: Rather than looking at things outside, look at your own inner self and grasp the truth. (Try not to look for the way outside but try to confront yourself and grasp the very nature of yourself.)

<Mr Watanabe> You are so knowledgeable! I was not able to find when, how and in what context the "Commandment" is used.

Is it safe to go to Tokyo (re radiation in food)?

Question:

Let me first say that my sympathy and thoughts are with the victims of the disaster and the brave relief workers and Fukushima power plant staff. I feel it is inappropriate for me to complain about a holiday being possibly cancelled in comparison to this.
What my question is however, is that would it be safe to go to Tokyo for 2 weeks? I am due to leave in a few weeks and have heard that there is iodine contamination in some food supplies and possibly caesium-137 (with a 30 year half life). I don't want to put my long-term health at risk for the sake of a holiday, and there are so many conflicting reports that it is hard to know what to believe. I know that people on here are unlikely to be certain, but if anyone is a health professional and knows how risky these isotopes could be it might be helpful. Thanks.

Answer:

Just talked to my friend in Tokyo. Things are getting back to normal. But they're still having a few rolling blackouts. Radiation isn't a concern though. There's still shortages of somethings in stores.

Do you think the US Travel Advisory for Japan will be lifted...?

Question:

I'm supposed to study abroad in Nagoya this summer. I am leaving at the end of May. It is a university sponsored program led by one of our professors, so as long as the travel advisory stays in effect, the program can't happen. My professor is holding off officially canceling it though, she is hoping that the advisory will be lifted by the end of May so we can go. It stinks too, because in the actual advisory it lists the Aichi prefecture (where Nagoya is located) as a safe area. Do you think there is a chance the US Dept. of State will end the travel advisory to Japan by then?

I hope my question doesn't sound insensitive. I feel really bad about all that has happened in Japan, and my heart goes out to all the people affected by the earthquake/tsunami, and now those putting their lives on the line to stop the dangerous radiation w/ the nuclear plant. I'm still willing to go if I can, I just want to know if that will likely even be possible...

Answer:

I think there is no problem if US government says Aichi is safe.

But Japanese government says it takes months to calm the nuke down. So it's unlikely that the advisory will be lifted by the end of May.

Addition:
I can't believe that it's taking this long to calm the nuke down. But this is reality. I hope you can enjoy the next chance.
