Question:
What is the significance of certain numbers in Japan? For example, I know 4 is associated with death, and 9 means despair or something like that. 3 is lucky? (I dont know about this one) What about the rest of the numbers? Would someone avoid having a wedding on a certain day like 4/9 or 4/4, or does it not really matter?
Answer:
I rent an extra parking space at the apartment building next door to my house and my space is number 5, but only because they skipped 4. I see this a lot in parking lots.
