What is Japan like? plz tell?

Question:

Ive always wanted to go there but I have no idea what it is really like. How are the people there? What are the schools like? Is it a good idea to raise a family there based off of the way the people act. What about the crime rate? And are there any rural areas at all? If you know anything or ther answers to these questions please answer.

Answer:

Well, the crime rate is really low. The number of reported cases where a woman has been raped is the lowest in the whole world.
The culture is unique, amazing ;)

The people are really friendly, but to be able to live in Japan, and most certainly if you wish to build a family there, you have to be able to be almost overly polite as well ;P well, for us non japanese it might be overly polite. So be careful to not offend anyone, their rules and lives are different from ours. Look up facts about these things on the internet ^^

The summers are really hot, the winters are cold ;P And the apartments are made to keep the summer heat away, not keep it in during winter xD

About the schools .. they have much more serious schools than we have. Their position in school (how good they are compared to the other students) mean a lot and they also have cram school which you can attend. They also have club activities after school and not too long holidays either ;P You have to wear school uniform in elementary school, junior to high school but when you are at university you don't need to anymore ^^
Your grades really mean a lot, after what I've read and heard.

But it's a good place to live in, in my opinion! <3 I myself plan to move there in a few years so if you wish to go there, do it! ^^ Japan won't disappoint you!
