Teaching in Japan, Driver's License required?

Question:

Are you expected to have a driver's license when applying for an English teaching job in Japan? I'm mainly concerned about the popular jobs like the ones from Aeon and JET.

Do English teaching jobs usually require the teacher to drive to work?

Answer:

The main requirement is a BA / BS degree. You don't need to know how to drive. They don't care how you get to work, as long as you get there on time.
I'd guess very few drive to work as cars are expensive to own, and parking is often unavailable.
