Different words for "life" in Japanese and what's the difference?

Question:


Inochi
Seikatsu
Kurashi

What's the difference and when to use them? (I'm sure there are more words for "life" in Japanese, which I can't remember right now)

Answer:


Inochi: is living itself as the opponent of "death"

Seikatsu
Kurashi: These 2 mean everyday act of life like eating, sleeping, working, shopping, etc

others

jinsei; This is used when you are talking about life in longer term than above 2, like years or decades. Used when talking about marriage, career, etc.

seimei; same as inochi
