What is the te-form of kanashi? I need to use this work in an essay and want to use te-form to make it more advanced instead of having short sentances. thanks!

it maybe kanashikute「悲しくて」

財布をなくしたことが悲しくて、泣いた。
Feeling sad caused by to lose my wallet , I cry.

this sentence means that i lost my wallet so i feel sad so i cry.

probably this is right answer
and ,probable my english has some grammatical wrong.
please correct my english
