What are the most common problems you can encounter in Japan?

Question:

I'll be going to japan next month, and work there as an I.T. for 3 years. I'll be staying in Yokohama, but i was just wondering.

Answer:

Hi! I currently live in Japan and will tell you that, as others have said, the culture is probably the biggest thing. Learn what is considered improper, etc. The Japanese don't have the same gestures as Europeans and/or Americans. Keep practicing Japanese, too.

Also, get yourself a color-coded train map. You will need this! The trains are the best way to get around sometimes, but you often have to jump to several different ones to get to where you are going.

Do you plan to get a driving license while here? This isn't too difficult, but unless you are from England or Australia, you might need to find somewhere to practice driving on the left side of the road, using the turn signals, and making right turns.

Good luck to you - Japan is beautiful and the food is amazing (especially the curry!).
