Whats it like to live in Japan?

Question:

Im Irish, I dont want to live there or anything (Cant imagine learning a language that complicated), only 15 at the moment, but Id really love to go there sometime in the future. Ive only ever been in ireland and England, otherwise just seen the world through the TV, so please give a good description!! (And dont go on about the economy, i dont care about that, i wanna know real stuff!!)

Answer:

OK. I just read the forst answer and that person is totally wrong - Japan is one of the cleanest places on earth.
Anyway, let's get the bad things out of the was first - earthquakes are common (although most of the time they're absolutely nothing). Also, Japanese people don't take as kindly to foreigners as you would expect. Well... actually, they're nice to your face, but if you go up to someone and as them where the station is... in English... then they're not gonna take a liking to you. They;re pretty obsessive with their culture, and they all act as one pretty big family.
But it really depends where you go. In tokyo, it's seriously modern (loads of really cool technology and entertainment), there is lots of places to go visit, and something is always happening. But if you go to Hokkaido, you'll be able to relax in loads of hot springs/spas, and visit a bunch of temples. I'm not sure about the Oosaka area... never been there.
All places are kickas, so I do reccomend you visit Japan! Tis so uber fun there! Just don't break the harmony, and you'll be welcomed fine.
