What is Tokyo, Japan like?

Question:

I would like to know what Tokyo, Japan is like. I'm thinking about moving there. I've been into Japan's history, culture and lifestyle. I'd be living in Japan for roughly a year if I decide to go with my brother who's going for work. I speak Japanese very well and understand Japanese culture very well. Thanks for the answers.

Answer:

You can't go with your brother unless your brother is your sole guardian and you rely on him to live (dependent). Are your parents gone and he is your sole supporter? If not, then you would have a hard time coming to Japan to live with your brother.

Tokyo is not bad, it is common for people to say it is simply a concrete jungle, which central Tokyo might be, concrete can used to describe many Japanese cities including Kyoto, but Tokyo is huge, filled with mountains, hiking trails, nature etc.

This is Tokyo:

As this is Tokyo as well:

Step out of Central Tokyo to experience that. It's like Kyoto, Central Kyoto (Karasuma district) is a major business hub with department stores, shops, super modern train station, so is Osaka and other major cities of Japan. Step just out of Central Kyoto or the metropolitan areas to visit all the famous temples, shrines etc you read about.
