What is the difference between "Food Presentation" and "Food Arrangement?"?

Question:

Please give me some ideas. I'm working on my essay.

Answer:

There are 5 elements in FOOD PRESENTATION. They are an important role in good tasting and good looking meals. It is the art of modifying, processing, arranging, or decorating food to enhance its aesthetic appeal.

1 Color
2 Shape and texture
3 Arrangement
4 Garnish
5 Plating

It's a matter how food is presented like (1/4) tying thin asparagus with white part of a leek or a strand of carrots (to get that green and orange contrast). Or (2) how Crepe Suzzette is presented - folded or rolled, and has that velvety feel to the mouth. Or (3/4) how food are food placed so that it doesn't clash with each other, and/or how to complement the color of the food. (5) How you want to plate your food - the size, the shape, color, and so on...

In FOOD ARRANGEMENT (as you can see is part of FP) you want to be practical, maintain scale, keep sauces as complements, create a focal point, and experiment with both symmetrical and asymmetrical arrangements. It is finding the balance and harmony.

Here are some Food Presentation and Food Arrangement. Please don't be offended by the first one (a bit extreme).

And finally in it's simplicity. You can say it has all the 5 elements of FP.
