Is it ok to leave a japanese pitz at home alone for 7 hours?

i live by myself in an apartment, and i work for 7 hours a day,and i'm planning to get a japanese spitz soon, so i was wondering if its ok to leave at home alone for that time period

Answer:

Depends on how well you have your dog house broken. I sometimes leave my dog in my house for perhaps that long, though it is very infrequent that it happens. I just make sure I walk him before I leave and then again as soon as I get back. But you're pushing the envelope at 7 hours. And if it is a puppy, then it is flat out too long.
