Ingredients in Japan?

Question:

I will be using couchsurfing while traveling in Japan. One of the hosts asked me to cook some traditional food from my country. I know they use a lot of different food and spices and I heard it's really hard to find milk and the kind of bread we eat here in Europe.
So I'm wondering how hard or easy it is to find wallnuts, cottage cheese and yeast. And where can I find these?

Answer:

You should be able to find all those things at a decent supermarket. My local supermarket in Japan stocked all those items. If you are having trouble finding certain ingredients there are Western style supermarkets such as Amika and Plant6 that stock all kinds of things from all around the world.
