Is it socially acceptable to approach women in Japan?

Question:

I'm usually very forward and polite about asking women out and don't always wait for a social "in" such as common friends or so forth. I don't make sexual comments about women, and I'm waiting until marriage to do anything sexual.

Is it rude to approach women in Japan ?

Answer:

1. How old are you?

2. So you just walk up to women and ask them out? How do American women respond to that? My guess would be not well.

3. All these questions about "Japanese women" will yield the same answer. It just depends!!! Japanese women are not mindless drones. They are as varied and different from one another as American women or women in any other country. So, it just depends. You cannot say "Japanese women" will do one thing or another because they are all different.
