What happened to the japanese canadains in internment camps? and why were they put there?

Question:

Answer:

Well, they were housed cheaply and inadequately, underfed and used as farm labour. Meanwhile all their property was confiscated and sold on the cheap. Then after the war, the Canadian government tried to deport them to Japan regardless of their Canadian citizenship. In truth, by comparison the Japanese-Americans had it good.

They were put there out of racism and the fear of espionage.
