Is there any possibility for a foreigner to be a Japan's idol?

I have dreaming of becoming a famous Japan's artist, but I am wondering if there is a possibility for a pure Filipino like me to become a successful Japan's idol. I am good in singing and acting and by now, I am starting to learn Japanese language so that I can easily have a conversation to the Japanese people when i go there and fulfill my dream. So, by this characteristic, can a pure Filipino be a Japan's idol?
