Tokyo or London. American goin on holiday. Where should I go?

Question:

Going this summer. Been to London before. But there are other cities nearby to visit. Should I pick London or Tokyo? I'm worried bout Tokyo. I don't speak Japanese. :-(

Answer:

Tokyo but I strongly suggest either Osaka or Fukuoka. These wonderful cities had also nearby cities that are very very much worth visiting.

In Osaka, you can detour to Kyoto and Nara. These 2 cities are very rich in traditional shrines, temples and castle. If you want to go far, you can visit Kushimoto in Wakayama prefecture. From Osaka or Kyoto there's are trains that you can ride to reach Kushimoto.

In Fukuoka, you can detour Kumamoto and Kagoshima. Kumamoto has one of the most beautiful castles in Japan. Then from Kagoshima, you can visit the Yakushima and Tanegashima islands. These islands are very beautiful and well known to locals.

If you study carefully, you can do much more things here in Japan than in London. Even if you just decide to stay in Tokyo, you'll have much more new experiences than in London.
