Sapporo, Japan. Is 1 week long enough?

Question:

Hey guys and gals. I'm planning on going to Sapporo (Capital city of Hokkaido, Japan).
I don't know wether to go for 1 week or 2. I'm going to be staying with a friend who is Japanese.
I want to do the touristy stuff and experience the local side of life as well.

So, do you think a week is enough or would 2 be better? It kinda seems like a long way to go (from England) just for a week. (expense is not a problem).

Sapporo is not such a big city. So 1 week is enough for Sapporo alone.
