Well, I'm planning to actually live in Japan for a couple of years and I have an iPhone 4 right now. I was wondering, should I just cancel my current plan and get a new phone in Japan? I dont want to get roaming fees and all that.
And what kind fo phones do they even have in Japan if I were to go that path of getting a new one?

There is no point to keep using your current iPhone 4 if you live in Japan for years. You better cancel and get a new one.
Softbank is offering iPhone service in Japan. So you can buy iPhone and have a contract with Softbank.
