Decline of Buddhism in Japan: Your Thoughts?

Question:

Japanese youth seem to care less and less about Buddhism, and they also don't seem to recognize the affect it has had on their culture. Pop culture in Japan strays far from Buddhist influences, and Japanese families are now turning less and less to Buddhist temples for funerals. How is this a problem for Japanese society? If possible, please give me reliable sources to support your opinion. I will give as many points possible to the best answer. Answers or sources in Japanese are acceptable, too, if not preferred. Thank you!

Answer:

I don’t think many people consider it’s a problem.
However, here’s some possible problems, I could think of:

People have less knowledge of Buddhism, so some fake cult Buddhism groups gather people and make money. Founding a fake religion group is one good way to evade Tax.

Temples are not working as the place to save people. Not many alternative place to save people’s mind.

Temples cannot make sufficient money to sustain their heritage. Some are demolished and sold to real estate developer.

Some temples and monks are experiencing serious difficulty of finding successors.
